Intensive Outpatient Treatment is the main model practiced within ACER.  The primary structure of the group is received from the Matrix Model of substance abuse treatment.  Each group session is specifically structured to meet the necessary needs of our clients in the early stages of recovery.  These topics include coping skills, family group, relapse prevention, early recovery skills, and step study.  The primary therapist and other staff as indicated will conduct group therapy.  The structure of group therapy will also include a presentation by each client of steps 1 and 2 of Alcoholics Anonymous.  The level of treatment progress and the clients' individual characteristics will determine the focus of groups.
